Choosing the best pet in hero wars can be daunting when starting as there are so many to choose from.
Pets can come in handy when facing certain teams and tilt the war in your favour if implemented well. In Hero Wars, pets play a crucial role in boosting the abilities of your heroes and can significantly impact your team’s performance in battles.
They provide additional support through their unique abilities, such as healing, dealing damage, or applying buffs/debuffs. Understanding how to utilize pets effectively can give you an edge in various game modes, including campaign battles, arena matches, and guild wars.
Criteria for Evaluating the Best Pet in Hero Wars
Versatility: The best pets are often versatile, and capable of adapting to different situations and team compositions.
Synergy: Look for pets that complement the abilities of your main heroes and enhance their effectiveness in battle.
Effectiveness: Assess the overall impact of a pet’s abilities and stats on your team’s performance, considering factors like survivability, damage output, and utility.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Examine the strengths and weaknesses of each pet, including their optimal pairings with specific heroes and potential counters.
Playstyle Considerations: Consider how each pet aligns with different playstyles and team compositions, whether you prefer an aggressive, defensive, or balanced approach.
The best pet in my opinion is Axel
When starting consider Axel. Even without knowing your team composition, I would highly recommend Axel for tank patron and damage dealer patron to Violet.
Axel is the ideal pet when it comes to magic power. Axel applies a shield that distributes magical and physical damage taken by allies between all heroes proportional to their reaming health.
This, however, can also be a downside if facing certain teams. Though useful at first, his patronage skill gains less from upgrades than that of other pets. Despite having unmatched versatility, Axel doesn’t compare to Oliver or Cain when it comes to patronage.
Oliver and Cain Consider these two appropriate tanking pets.
Oliver
Oliver is effective against physically stronger teams because of his shield, which prevents physical damage. However, magical attacks penetrate straight through.
Cain
Cain on the other hand is really good especially if you have dodge heroes like Dante, Aroura etc. Cain allows these dodge heroes to gain full energy just after three dodges. Pretty sweet especially when on the attacking end. Overall Cain is the best combat pet.
Khorus
Though new, Khorus’s Indomitable skill enables each ally to block certain control effects. He is good when up against teams with silence, charm, blinding, stuns and mind control. He is not quite effective against Guild Raids.
Mara
Mara is good for patron skill whereas Mara’s Darkguard skill helps Deal triple magic damage to all enemies when stunned, silenced, slowdown or charmed. Mara is also able to buff magic defence.
Albus
Though not game-changing compared to the above pets, Albus is good at boosting pure damage dealt.
Biscuits
Biscuits blocks partial healing of the other heroes and you only need him when he is purple because his ult’s heal block remains constant regardless of how strong he gets.
Vex
Vex is pretty new but is proving worthy.
Merlin
Merlin adds magic penetration as well as speed so use Merlin when you have more magic heroes. Not too bad as a combat pet also.
As for Fenris
Fenris’s skills are fair but not effective enough in my opinion. Thunderous Roar blinds enemies for 3 Seconds only while Blind Rage gives the master ability to blind enemies for 2 Seconds. This may not help when facing teams with quick recovery that have high damage.
Conclusion
Overall, the key takeaway is that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer to the question of the best pet in Hero Wars. Instead, the best pet varies depending on the specific needs of your team and the challenges posed by your opponents.
